Thanks to everyone who made [ ESC ] a success! Thanks especially to our artists, who contributed 16 projects from 6 different MFA programs around New York City. We estimated nearly 200 people came to meet, mingle and see the work of emerging artists from the media arts community.

Some more thanks: this show would not have been possible without the support of the Hunter College Integrated Media Arts MFA program, its student organization EYEspeak, and–most importantly–Peter Jackson, the Film & Media Dept’s Digital Media Production Coordinator and our beloved tech guru!

Check out some photos of the event here.

Thanks again for a great show,

Your [ ESC ] organizers (Sarah Nelson Wright, Laura Chipley, Francisca Caporali, Ariana Souzis, Suyin Looui and Pilar Ortiz)

Electronic Social Club: a network of NYC graduate students connected by the practice of creating social dialogue through projects in media, art and design.

Friday November 14 | 7-10 pm
Hunter College | 695 Avenue
Room HN 543 | Black Box

…..new media projects, video art, web-based projects, experimental, interactive, performance, media art, installations, sound projects and games…..

Like a social club, [ ESC ] is formed around a common interest, activity or location.  We bring together MFA students from across New York City to meet and showcase their graduate art work, and to form a common network around the theme of creating social dialogue through art and media.

This year, [ ESC ] will feature several presentations and a gallery of student work including installations, videos and web-based art.

Presentations:

Storywalk: Collaborative Narratives

Sha Sha Feng | Hunter College Integrated Media Arts
An experimental guided tour experience of the Lower East Side which explores storytelling through digital mapping.

Drew Cogbill | Parsons Design and Technology
